Back in March, a 6-month exemption from MOT testing was granted to drivers as a result of the Coronavirus outbreak. The purpose of this change was to help minimise the spread of the virus.
Now that restrictions continue to be eased, drivers of any vehicle that is due an MOT test from the 1 August is now required to obtain a test certificate.
With this in mind, those who had an MOT due date before 1 August will continue to receive a 6-month exemption. It is still really important that all vehicles are kept in a roadworthy condition and are properly maintained.
